Library Information

Please turn off cell phones and pagers when entering the library.

Hours
Library hours are Mon. - Fri., 7:30 am till 8:00 pm; Sunday 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm unless otherwise posted. The library is also open Mon. - Fri. during the semester breaks and the summer sessions. Summer hours are Mon. - Fri., 8:00am - 5:00pm. The library is closed on weekends during the summer.
Library cards
Any resident age 16 years or over and SouthArk students may obtain a library card. A driver's license or other photo ID must be shown to receive a card.
There is no charge for a card .However, a $5.00 replacement fee is charged if a card is lost.
High school students may get a library card if they are at least 16 years old. High school students may check out two books at a time.

Checkout policy
Five books per patron is the limit for checkout. High school students may check out two books.
The checkout period is two weeks. Books may be renewed by phone or in person before the due date.
There is a 10¢ fine per book for each day it is overdue. Fines must be paid in full before a patron may check out another book.
Patrons must show their library card to check out books.
Math videos are available for overnight checkout. There is a 50¢ late charge for each day the video is late. Other videos may be viewed only in the library.

Children in the Library
 No child under the age of 16 may be in the library without a parent.
No child under the age of 16 may use a computer in the library, even when accompanied by a parent.

Copier
A copier is available for public use at the circulation desk. Copies are 10¢ each.

Microfiche viewer is used to access print text which has been transferred onto film for preservation. See the library map for the location of the microfiche files and the viewer.

Computer use policy
The library staff may request that patrons show photo identification before using a computer.
Three computers are available for email and Internet access for the public. Other computers are for student research purposes only.
All patrons must sign in at the desk before using computers. There is a 45 minute twice a day time limit.
Fee for printing from the computer is 10¢ per page. You may pay at the circulation desk.

VendPrint is a print management program which shows the patron how much his printouts will cost before they are sent to the printer. Once the patron authorizes the charge, the print job is sent to the printer behind the Circulation desk. The patron must go to the desk and notify a staff member who will collect the money and give the patron his printouts.

Interlibrary Loans
This service is for SouthArk students, faculty and staff.
If our library does not have a book or article that you need, we can try to find it at another library. Ask for an interlibrary loan form at the desk. If you are not a SouthArk student but you are a Union County resident and need an interlibrary loan, contact Barton Library in El Dorado at the corner of East 5th St. and North Jefferson, or call 870-863-5447.
